The Cadillac BLS is a passenger car (D-segment in Europe) manufactured by the American marque General Motors. It was a vehicle based on the Saab 9-3 that was sold in Europe and other additional markets, but was not distributed in the United States or Canada. It had only one generation, and was available in both sedan and estate body styles.
The BLS was manufactured in Sweden between 2005 and 2009. Very few units of this model were manufactured. This sedan was built on the GM Epsilon platform, shared with cars such as the Fiat Croma, Chevrolet Malibu or Opel Vectra. However, the car shared practically all its components with the Saab 9-3. It was marketed with 2.0 and 2.6 gasoline engines and FCA’s 1.9 JTD diesel.
After its production stopped, the Cadillac ATS took over this segment a few years later. Among its alternatives were other equivalent sedans, such as the Honda Accord, or vehicles such as the Mercedes C-Class or the BMW 5 Series.
