Chevrolet Malibu — TIMING CHAIN OR BELT?

MODEL LIST - (UPDATED 2023)

| Home / Chevrolet / List of Chevrolet Spark Models without Timing Belt

The Chevrolet Malibu is a passenger car (D-segment in Europe) manufactured by the U.S. General Motors group. It is one of the longest-lived models of GM, with it has a total of 9 generations. These versions are distributed in two stages. The first, which runs from 1964 to 1983, the Malibu was a trimmed version of the Chevrolet Chevelle. Subsequently, GM revived the Malibu in 1997, which would end up being the only sedan of the American conglomerate. This is because the Chevrolet Impala and Chevrolet Sonic were discontinued in 2020 due to poor sales.

The most equipped version of the Malibu is called Chevrolet Malibu SS, a common surname in many Chevrolet vehicles. Some versions have been sold as Holden Malibu CDX in markets such as Australia or New Zealand. In China it is sold as Chevrolet Malibu XL.

Historically the Chevrolet Malibu has had a multitude of platforms, shared with vehicles such as the Opel Vectra / Vauxhall Vectra, the Cadillac BLS or the Saab 9-3. The current version of the Malibu uses the General Motors Epsilon II platform (E2XX), shared with the Opel / Vauxhall Insignia, Buick Regal, Buick Envision, Cadillac XT4 and the Holden Commodore (ZB).
