The Chevrolet Nubira is a compact sedan (C-segment in Europe) manufactured by the American automaker General Motors, specifically through its GM Daewoo Korea division. It was produced since 1997 and replaced the Daewoo Nexia, which in turn was based on the Opel Kadett E. The Daewoo Nubira was replaced by the Chevrolet Optra in almost all markets, and became the family and sedan version of the latter.

In Europe, the Optra was marketed as Lacetti under both the Daewoo and Chevrolet brands. This is why the Nubira continued to be sold beyond 2002 in its sedan and station wagon body styles. However, in markets such as the UK, all variants of the Optra were called Lacetti, whether Hatchback, Wagon or Sedan.

Eventually, although the Optra’s life went its own way, in Europe the Nubira was replaced, like the Lacetti, by the Chevrolet Cruze, only in its sedan variant.
