Chevrolet Lacetti / Optra — TIMING CHAIN OR BELT?

MODEL LIST - (UPDATED 2023)

| Home / Chevrolet / List of Chevrolet Lacetti / Optra Models without Timing Belt

The Chevrolet Lacetti is a compact car (C-segment in Europe) manufactured by the American automaker General Motors, specifically through its GM Daewoo Korea division. It was born in 2002. Its global name is Chevrolet Optra, and from there it has been sold in different countries under different names and brands. In Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, India and Mexico it was marketed as Chevrolet Optra, i.e. with its original name. In Japan and the United States, Suzuki reached an agreement to market it under the Suzuki Reno brand. And in Bolivia it was imported and sold as Suzuki Forenza, being Europe really the only market where it was sold as Lacetti. Furthermore, in each of these markets, the vehicle replaced an earlier model of Chevrolet, Daewoo or another brand of the General Motors conglomerate.

This affordable compact was originally sold in many European countries as Daewoo Lacetti. It was a few years later when Americans decided to rename it to Chevrolet Lacetti, as they considered that Chevrolet would be a more attractive brand in this market. The Optra has Hatchback, Sedan and Estate body styles, and replaces the Daewoo Nubira. However, in Europe the models were separated, remaining as Lacetti for the hatchback version, Chevrolet Nubira for the sedan variant and Nubira Station Wagon for the Family. The Lacetti or Optra is still sold in many countries around the world, but in Europe, it was replaced by the Chevrolet Cruze in 2010.
