Chrysler Neon — TIMING CHAIN OR BELT?

MODEL LIST - (UPDATED 2023)

| Home / Chrysler / List of Chrysler Neon Models without Timing Belt

The Chrysler Neon is a compact car (C-segment in Europe) by the American marque Chrysler. It was launched in 1995 and has been sold under the names Chrysler Neon, Dodge Neon and Plymouth Neon. It has been produced by Chrysler Corporation (1995 – 1998), DaimlerChrysler (1998 – 2005), FCA (2017 – 2021) and finally Stellantis from 2021 onwards.

The first generation Neon was marketed in two versions, 4-door notchback and 2-door coupe. Its engines were varied, with SOHC and DOHC variants, all 4-cylinder in line gasoline and a good range of available powers. Depending on the market, its name and brand diferred. In the United States and Canada it was sold both as Dodge and Plymouth Neon. In Mexico it carried both the Dodge and Chrysler emblems, while in Europe and Australia it was known as Chrysler Neon.

The second generation went into production in 2000. Its body was sedan only, with the coupe version disappearing from the market. Its design was very similar to the original, but more detailed and refined. It also had a small premature facelift in 2003. Chrysler’s intention was only to further homogenize its style with respect to the Dodge portfolio. It would finally disappear from the market in 2006.

The third and current generation of the Neon is sold only as the Dodge Neon. It is a rebadged version of the sedan variant of the Fiat Tipo launched in 2015.
