Dacia Logan — TIMING CHAIN OR BELT?

MODEL LIST - (UPDATED 2023)

| Home / Dacia / List of Dacia Logan Models without Timing Belt

The Dacia Logan is a passenger car (B-segment in Europe) marketed under the Romanian brand Dacia and produced by the French Renault group. It was launched in 2004 and uses the Renault-Nissan Alliance B0 Platform for its production (also known as Nissan B Platform). The Dacia Logan was conceived as a replacement for the Dacia 1300 (which in turn was based on the Renault 12).

Despite being a brand designed to sell vehicles in emerging countries, the Renault Group decided to experiment and put it on sale in European countries such as Germany, Spain and France. It was sold as a very low cost vehicle (between 5,000 and 7,000 euros). In South America, the Dacia Logan is sold under the name Renault Logan, while in Russia it is marketed as Lada Largus, after Renault acquired Lada Motors back in 2012.

The Logan is sold in sedan and family body (Logan MCV), although pick-up versions are available in some markets. Later, in 2008, the Dacia Sandero was born, a vehicle based on the Logan but with hatchback body also designed for the same segment of the public.

There is also a van version of the Logan called Dacia Logan Express. It is a small panel van similar in size to the Renault Kangoo, but much more affordable.

The Dacia Logan competes with multiple inexpensive compacts with sedan or family body. Some of its rivals are the Chevrolet Aveo, Hyundai Accent and Fiat Palio. There are 2 generations of this car to date.
