Dodge Dart — TIMING CHAIN OR BELT?

MODEL LIST - (UPDATED 2023)

| Home / Dodge / List of Dodge Dart / Dart GT Models without Timing Belt

The Dodge Dart is a compact car (C-segment in Europe) from the manufacturer FCA. It was introduced in 2012 and went on sale that same year as a replacement for the Dodge Caliber. Historically, the American brand had been using the name ‘Dodge Dart’ for a multitude of luxury vehicles since the 1960s. However, this Dodge Dart (GT) does not fall within the count of generations of that model, as it is a reuse of the naming itself, but not a continuation of the original model.

The Dodge Dart (2012) was developed by FCA US LLC, and uses the same platform as the Alfa Romeo Giulietta. Outside the United States, the Dodge Dart was marketed as the Fiat Viaggio. It is a front-engine, front-wheel drive, four-door small sedan.

This model was produced until 2016 and had several trim levels with different standard and optional equipment. The SE was the base model, while the SXT was the mid-level model and the Limited was the top-level model. The Aero focused on fuel economy, while the GT was the top-of-the-line model. Each model had its own equipment, including engines, audio systems and wheels. Some models were discontinued in mid-2016, and the SXT Sport became the base model.

Regarding engines, the Dodge Dart had three engine options, including a 2.0 L, 2.4 L, and 1.4 L turbo engine. All engines were manufactured in Michigan and came with a 6-speed manual transmission, with automatic options available. The 2.4 L engine was only available on select models, while the 1.4 L engine was available on specific models.
