Dodge Neon — TIMING CHAIN OR BELT?

MODEL LIST - (UPDATED 2023)

| Home / Dodge / List of Dodge Neon Models without Timing Belt

The Dodge Neon is a compact car (C-segment in Europe) manufactured by the American marque Chrysler. It was produced between 1994 and 2005, and was sold under the Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth brands.

The Dodge Neon was a front-engine, front-wheel drive compact car. It was introduced in 1994 and offered in two-door and four-door options for over two generations. It was marketed worldwide under the Chrysler brand and was available in multiple versions. It ended its production in 2005. The Neon name resurfaced in 2016 for the Mexican market as a rebadged version of the Fiat Tipo.

The first generation Neon was introduced in 1994 and was produced until 1999. It was available in two body styles, a four-door sedan and a two-door coupe. It came with two engine options, two 2-liter four-cylinder blocks, one with SOHC timing and the other DOHC. The car was sold as Dodge and Plymouth in the United States and Canada; as Dodge and Chrysler in Mexico; and as Chrysler Neon in Europe, Australia and other export markets.

The second generation Dodge Neon was produced from 2000 to 2005. It was only available as a four-door sedan. This model was more refined than the original and featured more than a thousand improvement details, especially in the interior.

The Neon was briefly sold under the Chrysler name in Canada from 1999 to 2002, before being rebranded as the Dodge SX 2.0 in 2003. The model was also sold in Europe, Australia, Mexico, Asia, South Africa and South America as Chrysler. When it ceased production, the group switched to covering the segment in many markets with the Chrysler PT Cruiser, a vehicle with a radically different concept.
