About LOTUS EVORA
The Lotus Evora is a sports car from the manufacturer Lotus Cars. It was manufactured between 2009 and 2021, with a total of 6,117 units produced. Its predecessor was the Lotus Europa S. Once its production was stopped, its successor was the Lotus Emira.
The first generation of the Lotus Evora was introduced at the 2009 Geneva International Motor Show. It was available with a 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 280 hp, paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. The Evora could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds and reached a top speed of 260 km/h.
The model was updated in 2015, featuring new variants. It was available with a 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 350 hp. It was faster in both acceleration and top speed. The engines continued to be sourced from Toyota.
In 2017, the Evora GT430 was introduced, available with a 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 430 hp, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The Evora GT430 could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and reached a top speed of 305 km/h.
As a point of interest, the Evora was the first Lotus car to use a completely new platform since the launch of the Lotus Elise in 1995. It was also the first Lotus to offer a 2+2 seating configuration.
Among the alternatives to the Lotus Evora are vehicles such as the Audi R8, the Mercedes-AMG GT, and the Nissan GT-R.
