About MG HS

The MG HS is a C-segment compact SUV from the Chinese manufacturer SAIC Motor under the British brand MG. It has had one generation since its launch in 2018, replacing the MG GS model. It is also known as the MG EHS in Europe in its plug-in hybrid version and the MG Pilot in China following its 2020 restyling.

The first-generation MG HS was unveiled at the 2018 Beijing Auto Show, based on the X-Motion concept. It features 1.5-liter inline 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engines with 169 hp and 2.0-liter engines with 231 hp, with front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. It features a 291 hp plug-in hybrid version with an electric range of 51 km. In 2020, it received an aesthetic and interior restyling, being renamed MG Pilot in China. It grows slightly in length and height compared to the HS, debuting MG's new design language.

The MG HS achieved 5 EuroNCAP stars for safety. It is manufactured in China, Thailand, Pakistan, and Taiwan, and exported to Europe, Australia, Mexico, and other markets. Its rivals are models such as the Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, Nissan Qashqai, or Volkswagen Tiguan.
