MODEL LIST - (UPDATED 2023)

| Home / Mitsubishi / List of Mitsubishi Starion Models without Timing Belt

The Mitsubishi Starion was a sports car manufactured by the Japanese marque Mitsubishi. It was produced between 1982 and 1989. The Starion was a modern and aggressive sports car that was produced to compete with other highly-regarded sports cars of the time, such as the Toyota Supra and the Nissan 300ZX. It was also distinguished by its powerful turbo engine.

Before being launched, this model was presented at the 1982 Tokyo Motor Show as the “Mitsubishi Colt Starion“. A year later, the vehicle was renamed “Mitsubishi Starion” and went into mass production. The vehicle was marketed under the name “Conquest” in the United States. In Europe, the model was marketed by Chrysler as the Chrysler Conquest. There is one generation of this vehicle.

The Starion featured a turbocharged 2.6-liter four-cylinder engine with an astonishing 200 hp, plus a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 160 hp. Both engines came standard with a five-speed manual transmission, although an automatic transmission was also offered as an option.

The Mitsubishi Starion was one of the most appreciated sports cars of its time. It received favorable reviews from both the general public and the specialized press at its launch. However, as time went by, the Starion began to lose popularity in the face of a growing market rivalry, and was finally discontinued in 1989. Even so, it is still considered one of Mitsubishi’s most recognizable sports cars and it is coveted by car enthusiasts.
