Mitsubishi Space Star — TIMING CHAIN OR BELT?

MODEL LIST - (UPDATED 2023)

| Home / Mitsubishi / List of Mitsubishi Space Star Models without Timing Belt

The name “Mitsubishi Space Star” refers to two different models within the portfolio of vehicles of the Japanese brand Mitsubishi:

  • A minivan or MPV ( B-segment in Europe) produced between 1999 and 2005.
  • A hatchback (B-segment in Europe). This model is a rebadged version for the European market of the sixth-generation Mitsubishi Mirage.

The original Mitsubishi Space Star model shared a platform with the Mitsubishi Carisma, the Volvo S40 and V40. It was offered with 1.3 to 1.8-liter gasoline and diesel engines with power outputs ranging from 80 to 121 hp. The car was withdrawn in 2005 after a slight facelift in 2002.

The current model of the Space Star has been marketed since 2013. It is a lightweight vehicle, designed primarily to have a good aerodynamic coefficient. By size and specifications, this model is closer to a city car (A-segment) than to a standard utility vehicle. To date, this model has undergone several redesigns. Models sold as Mirage also have a sedan version.
