About SAAB 9-4X
The Saab 9-4X is a D-segment mid-size SUV from the manufacturer Saab. It only had one generation between 2011 and 2012 before production was stopped due to Saab's bankruptcy.
The Saab 9-4X was built on the GM Theta Premium platform and offered two engine options: a 3.0 V6 with 265 hp or a 2.8 turbocharged V6 with 300 hp. The exterior design was very similar to the concept presented in 2008, while the interior bore a resemblance to the second-generation Saab 9-5. Production stopped after building only 814 units due to Saab's bankruptcy, making it a very rare model today. It was also the only Saab produced in Mexico.
The 9-4X was one of the Swedish brand's attempts to stay afloat. Other General Motors vehicles such as the Opel Antara or the Chevrolet Captiva were produced on its same platform (but in a standard version).
The main competitors of the Saab 9-4X were premium models such as the BMW X3, the Audi Q5, or the Volvo XC60.
