Chrysler Pacifica — TIMING CHAIN OR BELT?

MODEL LIST - (UPDATED 2023)

| Home / Chrysler / List of Chrysler Pacifica Models without Timing Belt

The Chrysler Pacifica is a midsize crossover / MPV (E-segment in Europe) by the American marque Chrysler. It has 2 generations to date.

The first period of this vehicle covers the years 2004 to 2008. It was developed by DaimlerChrysler since 1998, and its concepts were shown at auto shows since 1999. It was the first product launched by the merger of both groups. The crossover shared platform and elements with the Mercedes Benz M-Class (at that time, Mercedes ML-Class). The German version was a success, while the first version of the Chrysler Pacifica had an overly optimistic sales forecast. To this would be added the rise of the SUV / luxury crossovers, with big bets like the BMW X5 or the Lexus RX.

The vehicle, however, was not conceived to be an SUV, but rather as an intermediate vehicle between a minivan plus the height of an SUV. A chimera designed to concentrate the best of both worlds. Despite the attempt, luxury SUVs won the battle.

The second generation of the Chrysler Pacifica would arrive from the FCA group, currently within the Stellantis group. Chrysler took advantage of the name, but transformed the concept of the vehicle, turning it into a minivan or MPV located above the Chrysler Voyager and the Dodge Grand Caravan (from the same automotive group).

It offered only a range of 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar engines, although with a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model with up to 53 km of range (16 kWh battery). The engine layout is front-wheel drive, while traction can be either front-wheel or all-wheel drive.
