Chrysler Crossfire — TIMING CHAIN OR BELT?

MODEL LIST - (UPDATED 2023)

| Home / Chrysler / List of Chrysler Crossfire Models without Timing Belt

The Chrysler Crossfire is a two-seater sports car from the DaimlerChrysler group. It was produced between 2004 and 2008. Among its predecessors are other convertibles such as the Chrysler Prowler and the Chrysler TC. This model had only one generation.

The Chrysler Crossfire was first introduced as a prototype at the 2001 North American International Auto Show. Production of this model started in 2004. It is based on the Mercedes-Benz R170 platform and shares many components with the first-generation Mercedes-Benz SLK. The vehicle was manufactured by Karmann in Germany.

This car is known for its distinctive fastback roof and wide rear fenders, which were inspired by the art deco period of the 1930s and buildings such as the Chrysler Building. The Crossfire was intended to revive the luxury-grade reputation that Chrysler had between the late 1950s and mid-1960s with the coupes and convertibles of that era.

Unfortunately for the brand, the Crossfire did not sell well. It did not reach its sales target and was one of the first models to be discontinued after the group’s restructuring between 2007 and 2008.

Some alternative vehicles to the Chrysler Crossfire were the BMW Z4, the Audi TT, the Nissan 350Z, the Lexus SC and Porsche Boxster among many others.
