The Infiniti Q70 is a mid-size luxury executive car (E-segment in Europe) manufactured by the Japanese automaker Nissan under its premium brand Infiniti. The Q70 is the successor to the Infiniti M since 2014.

The Infiniti Q70 has only one generation. It is nothing more than an update with minor changes from the previous generation (the Infiniti M, that is). Infiniti’s goal with this model was to update its name to bring it in line with the new nomenclature established in the rest of the brand’s vehicles.

The Q70 is currently Infiniti’s top-of-the-line model. It has gasoline versions with e.7-liter V6 and 5.6-liter V8 engines. This model also has an entry-level version with a Mercedes-Benz M 274 engine (2.0 turbo), the result of a partnership between Renault-Nissan and Daimler. This sedan also has diesel variants: a Mercedes-Benz OM651 2.2 and the now classic 3-liter turbo V9X developed between Renault and Nissan. In 2013, the hybrid version of the Q70 was also launched, which combined Nissan’s VQ35HR with the HM34 electric motor, developing a maximum output of 365 hp.

As is often the case with other sedans of this type, the Q70 also has a larger version called the Infiniti Q70L, and is marketed in both the United States and China. The Infiniti Q70 competes against vehicles such as the BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, Jaguar XF, Lexus ES, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Porsche Panamera.
