The Mini Countryman is a high-end subcompact SUV (B-segment in Europe) from the British brand Mini. It is manufactured by BMW. It was launched in 2010 at the Geneva Motor Show and is the first SUV to be marketed under the Mini brand. The Countryman is a 5-door crossover with front engine and front-wheel drive. There is also another model, the Mini Paceman, which is based on the same concept, but is a 3-door vehicle and could be considered an “SUV Coupe”.

The Mini Countryman is a safe vehicle (it obtained a 5-stars Euro NCAP entry in 2010) and is sold in multiple configurations. Notably, it is possible to acquire this vehicle with all-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. There are also John Cooper Works performance versions. In fact, the Mini Countryman has been competing in the WRC since 2010 with an “ALL4” version.

The Mini Countryman has 2 generations to date. The current generation uses BMW’s UKL2 platform; the same platform used by the BMW X1, X2 and the 2 Series Active/Gran Tourer. Among its competitors are other high-end crossovers or SUVs such as the Audi Q2.
