About TATA BOLT
The Tata Bolt is a B-segment subcompact car from the Indian manufacturer Tata Motors. It was introduced in 2014 as part of Tata Motors' new strategy to renew its product lineup. It was designed to replace the Tata Indica and is known in some markets as the Tata Tuff. Despite its modern focus, the Tata Bolt had a very short run in the Indian brand's catalog, as it was prematurely replaced in 2020 by the Tata Altroz and the Tata Tiago.
The first and only generation of the Tata Bolt was launched in 2014. It was built on the X1 platform, the same one previously used by the Tata Indica. The Bolt was offered with two engine options: a Revotron 1.2T gasoline engine and a Quadrajet 1.3 diesel engine. Aesthetically, the Bolt features a modern design with a prominent front grille and stylized headlights.
The Tata Bolt competed in a very crowded segment, facing rivals such as the Suzuki Swift, the Hyundai i10, and the Ford Figo in emerging markets.
