About LEXUS LM

The Lexus LM is a luxury MPV in the premium segment from the Japanese manufacturer Lexus, Toyota's luxury vehicle division. To date, 2 generations of the LM have been produced, with the first of them being closely related to the Toyota Alphard / Vellfire. Its name LM stands for "Luxury Mover".

The first generation of the Lexus LM was unveiled in April 2019 at the Shanghai Auto Show and went on sale starting in 2020. Based on the third-generation Toyota Alphard, the LM was built on the Toyota New MC platform and shared many components with its Toyota counterpart. It featured structural improvements, better sound insulation, and a new suspension system with Swing Valve technology. It was available in 4- and 7-seat configurations.

Regarding engines, it had gasoline and hybrid options. The gasoline engine was a 3.5-liter V6, while the hybrid variant featured a 2.5-liter engine with 184 hp of combined power. This first generation was marketed in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, and other selected markets, but was not available in Japan or North America.

The second generation of the Lexus LM debuted in April 2023, also at the Shanghai Auto Show. This time, the LM distanced itself even further from the Alphard / Vellfire, with a different body design and a new TNGA GA-K platform. Furthermore, it dropped conventional gasoline engine options and switched to offering exclusively hybrid variants.

This model is available in 4-, 6-, and 7-seat configurations, with 2.5-liter and 2.4-liter turbo hybrid engine options, offering 184 and 273 hp of combined power, respectively. Unlike the previous generation, the second-generation LM is marketed in more than 60 countries.

Among the alternatives to this MPV are others such as the Mercedes-Benz V-Class, the Volkswagen Multivan, and the Lincoln Navigator, among many others.
