The Lexus RC is a compact executive car (D-segment in Europe) manufactured by Toyota’s deluxe branch, Lexus. The RC is the two-door coupé version of the Lexus IS, the XE30 model to be precise. It is the Lexus equivalent of the Audi A5 (in relation to the A4) or the BMW 4 Series (in relation to the 3 Series). Its acronym RC stands for “Radical Coupé”. It was first presented to the public at the Tokio Motor Show in 2013.

The Lexus RC uses the same platform as the Lexus IS, a shorter version except for the front, which uses the same car front as the Lexus GS L10. It has multiple versions available, such as the Sports Luxury, the F Sport and all the F lines, being the RC F Track Edition and the RCF Performance the most popular two. The RC F has even raced in GT3 championships (just like the Lexus LFA), in the IMSA and in Super GT.

There is only one generation of the Lexus RC to date. Among some of its competitors we can find vehicles such as the BMW 4 Series, the Audi A5, the Mercedes-Benz C Class Coupé or the Ford Mustang.
