Lexus IS — TIMING CHAIN OR BELT?

MODEL LIST - (UPDATED 2023)

| Home / Lexus / Lexus IS Model List without Timing Belt

The Lexus IS is a compact executive car (D segment in Europe) manufactured by Lexus, the premium brand by the Japanese manufacturer Toyota. It was first released as a sedan in 1998 under the name of Toyota Altezza. Its code name was XE10, but was shown in Europe under the name of GXE10.

There are three generations of the Lexus IS. The first generation had both family car and sedan versions. In the second generation went away with the wagon car and added a coupé convertible variant (Lexus IS C) to the available sedán version. The third generation only had a sedan, which has undergone many redesigns, the most recent one in 2021.

The Lexus IS competes with other elegant sedans from its same segment. Some examples we can highlight are the Audi A4, the BMW 3 Series, Volvo S60, the Mercedes-Benz C Class and Acura TLX.
