Suzuki Jimny — TIMING CHAIN OR BELT?

MODEL LIST - (UPDATED 2023)

| Home / Suzuki / List of Suzuki Jimny Models without Timing Belt

The Suzuki Jimny is a mini SUV car (B-segment in Europe) manufactured by the Japanese marque Suzuki. It is a vehicle that falls into the ‘kei class‘ in Japan, although it also has a global model that has fewer limitations. This vehicle has been marketed since 1970, and has had a total of 4 generations.

The Jimny is a vehicle that is marketed worldwide, especially after its second generation. In Spain, this model was built by Santana Motor S.A. However, in Latin America, this model was made in the GM-Colmotores facilities, sharing many of its elements with the Chevrolet Samurai in this version.

The third generation of the Jimny was the longest, running from 1998 to 2020. It used naturally aspirated 1.3-litre petrol engines, as well as a 1.5-litre diesel variant with Renault’s K9K block. This same model would be marketed in some markets as the Mazda AZ-Offroad.

The fourth generation of the Suzuki Jimny was introduced in 2018, and gradually arrived in global markets. It features a completely refreshed and updated exterior. In terms of engines, it uses Suzuki’s 0.7-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine, as well as a 1.5-litre petrol version.
