The ‘Vitara‘ versions are B-segment crossovers, while the ‘Grand Vitara‘ variant refers to C-segment SUVs or off-road vehicles.

On the other hand, Suzuki’s agreements with the General Motors conglomerate have allowed the American brand to sell versions of this vehicle under various brand names, such as Chevrolet Vitara, Chevrolet Grand Vitara, Chevrolet Tracker and GMC Tracker. Suzuki also licensed the vehicle to the Spanish brand Santana, selling it as the Santana 300 and 350.

There are 4 generations of this vehicle to date.
