About BMW XM
The BMW XM is a full-size SUV (F-segment) manufactured by BMW under its BMW M subsidiary. It is the second vehicle developed entirely by this firm, following the BMW M1 in 1978.
This luxury crossover with plug-in hybrid mechanics was presented as a concept in Miami in late 2021. To use this name, the Germans reached an agreement with Citroën.
The BMW XM uses a 4.4 L V8 engine. Added to this powerplant is an electric motor integrated into the eight-speed automatic transmission that produces 197 hp and 281 Nm of extra torque. The electric battery has a capacity of 25.7 kWh and an estimated electric range of 88 km according to WLTP homologation.
This luxury SUV began commercialization in 2023 in three different variants:
The main competitors of the BMW XM in the full-size luxury SUV segment include the Mercedes-Benz GLS, the Audi Q8, and the Range Rover Sport, among others. These vehicles compete in terms of luxury, performance, energy efficiency, and advanced technology. To date, there is only one generation of this vehicle.
