The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is a high-end executive compact car (C-segment in Europe) manufactured by the German marque BMW. It is the smallest four-door sedan produced by BMW internationally —except for China and Mexico, where the BMW 1 Series F52 is available in sedan bodywork—. The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe has one generation to date.
The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe was made official at the Los Angeles Auto Show in late 2019, and went on sale in March 2020. This model shares a name with the BMW 2 Series and also uses BMW’s UKL2 platform. However, the development of this model is separate from the BMW 2 Series F22 and the MPV. Even so, it does share some parts with the standard BM 2 Series; for example, the hood, fender, dashboard and other important components such as the suspension.
The Gran Coupé is actually a sedan with a sporty look. It is sold with both gasoline and diesel engines with AdBlue.
218i models are available with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. 228i xDrive, M235i xDrive and 220d models are only available with an 8-speed automatic transmission. 220i models are only available with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Among some of its alternatives we could highlight the sedan version of the Audi A3, the Acura ILX or the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class coupé.
