Jaguar F-Type — TIMING CHAIN OR BELT?

MODEL LIST - (UPDATED 2023)

| Home / Jaguar / List of Jaguar F-Type Models without Timing Belt

The Jaguar F-Type is a two-seater Grand Touring car manufactured by the British marque Jaguar Cars, a subsidiary of the company Jaguar Land Rover. It succeeds the legendary Jaguar E-Type or Jaguar XK-E. It was presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2011 as a concept, the C-X16. Initially, it was to be a hybrid vehicle. The F-Type was finally taken to production in 2012, and was marketed a year later with convertible body. In 2014, it became available in coupé bodywork.

Its performance version is called F-Type SVR and has 5-liter V8 engines capable of delivering a total of 575 hp. Similarly, this two-seater has limited editions, such as the Project 7, limited to 250 units; or the 400 Sport, which mounted a 3-liter supercharged V6 engine.

The F-Type is built on Jaguar-Land Rover’s JLR D6a platform. The platform in turn is shared with David Brown Automotive, the Silverstone company that creates limited editions of Aston Martin vehicles.

There is only one generation of this sporty grand tourer to date. Since the range of engines of the F-Type is very wide, we can highlight several different competitors: the BMW 8 Series, the Audi R8, the Acura / Honda NSX, the Porsche 718 and the Mercedes-AMG GT-S.
