About ALFA ROMEO 147

The Alfa Romeo 147 is a compact car in the C-segment produced by the Italian manufacturer Alfa Romeo as part of the Fiat Auto conglomerate and, later, FCA. The model was produced from 2000 to 2010. It replaced the Alfa Romeo 145 and Alfa Romeo 146. In 2010, the Alfa Romeo 147 itself was replaced by the Alfa Romeo Giulietta.

Designed by the Alfa Romeo Centro Stile under the direction of Walter de Silva and Wolfgang Egger, the 147 was built on the Type Two rev platform. 3. In terms of design, one could say that the 147 was ahead of its time, as many rivals would eventually copy the design philosophy of this Italian compact. However, it wasn’t all about aesthetics. In 2001, the Alfa Romeo 147 was named European Car of the Year.

The first generation of the Alfa Romeo 147 was unveiled at the Turin Motor Show in June 2000. Initially, the model was offered with 1.6- and 2.0-liter gasoline engines, as well as a high-performance 3.2-liter variant known as the Alfa Romeo 147 GTA. It also featured an early 1.9-liter turbodiesel version.

The 147 received a facelift in late 2004. Aesthetically, it was further refined, and it adopted the design language of the 159 and the Brera. Newer, more powerful diesel engines were also introduced.

Among the alternatives to the Alfa Romeo 147, it is worth noting other premium compacts such as the Audi A3 and the BMW 3 Series Compact.
