About ALFA ROMEO TONALE

The Alfa Romeo Tonale is a compact C-segment SUV from the Italian automaker Alfa Romeo, which is currently part of the Stellantis conglomerate. The Tonale is Alfa Romeo’s attempt to serve as the spiritual successor to the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, which ceased production in 2020.

The Alfa Romeo Tonale went on sale in 2022. It uses the FCA Small Wide 4×4 platform, shared with other vehicles in the group such as the Fiat 500X and the Jeep Renegade. Within the Italian brand’s lineup, this model is positioned just below the Alfa Romeo Stelvio.

The concept for this SUV was unveiled in 2019 at the Geneva Motor Show. It was scheduled to launch in 2021 but was delayed due to the global semiconductor shortage that occurred that same year.

The Tonale is marketed as a sporty, modern SUV. Unlike other manufacturers, it has not phased out diesel engines. In addition, the gasoline-powered models are hybrids. There is also a Q4 version with all-wheel drive. Among its new features, the Tonale is the first vehicle for the consumer market to integrate NFT technology. In this case, the certificate serves to link the customer to the car, thereby guaranteeing the vehicle’s condition and credibility when the SUV is put up for sale on the used-car market.

The Tonale faces the difficult challenge of standing out in a luxury market crowded with competitors such as the BMW X1, Audi Q3, Volkswagen Tiguan, Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class, Volvo XC40, Jaguar E-Pace, and Range Rover Evoque.
