About ALFA ROMEO MITO

The Alfa Romeo MiTo is a subcompact car in the B-segment from the Italian manufacturer Alfa Romeo. It was produced between 2008 and 2018. The name comes from combining the two automotive abbreviations for the Italian cities of Milan and Turin.

To date, it is the only compact car Alfa Romeo has ever produced. The brand later decided to replace this model with an SUV, specifically the Alfa Romeo Tonale.

The MiTo is a compact utility vehicle based on the new GM Fiat Small Platform, a modular platform introduced in 2005 by FCA with the Fiat Grande Punto, with which it shares some engines, including the 155-hp 1.4 T-Jet gasoline engine found in the Abarth. The MiTo was designed to share some of its styling cues with the 8C Competizione. This front-wheel-drive model is positioned in the premium market segment, with its most direct competitor being the Audi A1 and others such as the Mini Hatchback.

Since its launch, this small premium compact car has introduced several technologies, such as the Alfa DNA system, MultiAir engines, and the Alfa TCT dual-clutch transmission.

The MiTo had only one generation, although a couple of cosmetic redesigns were made in 2013 and 2016. This latest facelift modernized some of its exterior elements to bring it in line with the Giulia. This model also had exclusive and performance versions, such as the MiTo GTA, the MiTo Veloce, and the Alfa MiTo for Maserati, which was equipped with a 170 CV 1.4 MultiAir engine and served as a courtesy car at Maserati dealerships.

The model was only available in Quadrifoglio Verde and featured a more aggressive body kit, a new exhaust system, and several performance-related upgrades. However, it was never actually released to the market.

Other models in this lineup include the RIAR, the Imola, and the Azurro, some of which were limited to very small production runs.
