About FIAT GRANDE PUNTO
The Fiat Grande Punto is a B-segment subcompact utility vehicle from the Italian manufacturer Fiat within the FCA conglomerate (now Stellantis). This model corresponds to the third generation of the Fiat Punto. It went on sale in 2005 and ceased to be marketed in 2020.
The main reason why FCA renamed the third-generation model of the Fiat Punto was simply that both models coexisted. During this time, many brands kept the previous model to maintain a B-segment entry-level vehicle below the psychological price point of 10,000 euros. This strategy was also used by PSA with the Peugeot 206+ following the release of the Peugeot 207. In addition, it was a significantly larger utility vehicle than its predecessor.
The Fiat Grande Punto was built on the SCCS platform (GM Fiat Small Platform), shared with the Alfa Romeo MiTo and the Opel Corsa D.
In 2009, Fiat gave this model a facelift called the Fiat Punto Evo. Between 2010 and 2015, sporty variants of this car were also sold under the Abarth Punto Evo brand.
Finally, this model received a final redesign in 2012. This time, it went on sale exclusively under the name "Fiat Punto".
