About FIAT IDEA
The Fiat Idea is a B-segment subcompact MPV by the Italian brand Fiat. Its predecessor in Europe was the Fiat Palio Weekend. Starting in 2012, this MPV was replaced by the Fiat 500L.
The Fiat Idea went on sale in 2003. It shared its platform with the second-generation Fiat Punto. This model also served as the basis for the Lancia Musa, which was identical, but with a different body style.
This model was sold for a single generation, although it did receive a facelift. In Europe, the MPV was discontinued in 2012, although in Argentina and Brazil it was manufactured and sold until 2018. In Latin America, versions with more powerful 1.6 and 1.8-liter gasoline engines ended up being sold. The Fiat Idea Adventure version, featuring a crossover-style body, was also reserved for the Brazilian market.
Among the alternatives to this model were vehicles such as the Opel Meriva, Toyota Yaris Verso, Skoda Roomster, Hyundai Matrix, or Renault Modus, among others.
