FIAT SEICENTO: timing chain or timing belt information

About FIAT SEICENTO

The Fiat Seicento is an A-segment microcar or urban compact car from the Italian manufacturer Fiat. It went on sale in 1997 as the successor to the Cinquecento. Starting in 2005, the model was renamed the Fiat 600.

The Seicento did not differ much from its predecessor. In fact, the car is directly based on the Fiat Cinquecento.

Two engines were available for the Seicento: the 1,108 cc FIRE and the older 899 cc OHC, which was used in the early base, S, and SX models, but was withdrawn from Western European markets due to emissions regulations. Both models used single-point injection.

Due to stricter emissions requirements, the latter was modified with universal multi-point injection starting in 2001, replacing the outdated 899 cc engine.

Among its alternatives, we can mention the Renault Twingo, the Ford Ka, the Volkswagen Lupo, the Seat Arosa, or the Hyundai Atos.
