Renault Twingo — TIMING CHAIN OR BELT?

MODEL LIST - (UPDATED 2023)

| Home / Renault / List of Renault Twingo Models without Timing Belt

The Renault Twingo is a minicompact urban vehicle or city car (A-segment in Europe) manufactured by the French automaker Renault. It began to be marketed in 1993. Its most similar predecessor is the Renault 4, which served as motivation to develop the W60 Project, a plan to retake the path of the Renault 4, which had been synonymous with the good development and success of this diamond-shaped brand. The name Twingo is an acronym for 3 different types of dance: Twist, Swing and Tango.

The Twingo has historically competed against the Ford Ka, Toyota Aygo, Hyundai i10 and Citroen C1/C2. The third generation —launched in 2014— is created in partnership with Daimler, with which it shares a platform with Smart brand vehicles. Finally, from 2020, the Twingo became a model sold only in a 100% electric version (called Renault Twingo Z.E.), a strategy also used by Smart with its urban vehicles. There have been a total of three generations of this city car.
