Renault Alaskan — TIMING CHAIN OR BELT?

MODEL LIST - (UPDATED 2023)

| Home / Renault / List of Renault Alaskan Models without Timing Belt

The Renault Alaskan is a mid-size pickup truck from the French manufacturer Renault. It is based on the “Nissan Frontier” concept. Nissan’s experience manufacturing this type of commercial vehicles brought this pickup to the Renault-Nissan alliance. Since 2014 (third generation of the Frontier), this vehicle is sold with multiple bodies and names under the umbrella of several brands. The most highlighted models would be the Nissan Navara (also known as Frontier or NP300), the Renault Alaskan and the Mercedes-Benz X-Class. It is also sold as Dongfeng Ruiqi 6.

The Renault Alaskan as such has been marketed since 2017. However, it is no longer available in many countries since 2020, especially in the European market, since pickups are not usually very successful there. However, the Alaskan is still produced in South America at the manufacturing plant in Cordoba, Argentina.

This pickup is based on the Nissan Navara and the Mercedes-Benz X-Class platform. They are equipped with dCi engines from the Renault Group, and Mercedes also supplies a multitude of components from the Daimler Group.

Among the alternatives to the Alaskan are its platform siblings, as well as the Ford Ranger, the Mitsubishi L200, the Volkswagen Amarok, the Toyota Hilux or the Mazda BT-50. There is only one generation of this vehicle within Renault.
