The Toyota Hilux is a pick-up vehicle manufactured by the Japanese automaker Toyota. It has been in production since 1968 and has 8 generations under its belt. It is sold in a variety of bodyworks, such as cab chassis, camper, SUV, etc., although the pick-up is the most popular version. Some even became their own model; that is the case with the Toyota Trekker, which first started as the wagon version of the Hilux.
Throughout its history, the Hilux has been sold with a wide range of engines, from very basic engines to V6 engines. In addition, the Hilux has stood out over the years for its high reliability. It is a very useful vehicle to drive in terrains such as the dessert, thanks to its endurance and adaptability, It is no wonder that the Toyota Hilux has made its appearance at the Rally Dakar every year. Among its competitors we can find the SsangYong Musso, the Nissan Navara, the Isuzu D-Max and the Ford Ranger.
