Toyota FJ Cruiser — TIMING CHAIN OR BELT?

MODEL LIST - (UPDATED 2023)

| Home / Toyota / Toyota FJ Cruiser Models List without Timing Belt

The Toyota FJ Cruiser is a SUV (D-segment in Europe) manufactured by Toyota. It was presented as a concept car at the North American Auto Show in 2003. In 2005, it was finally put into production. It was sold from 2006 to 2017 in Japan. It is still comercially available in many other markets.

The Toyota FJ Cruiser is a retro-styled SUV based on the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado design line. Its predecessor, the FJ40, stopped being manufactured in 1984. When it was time to find a sustitute to that range, Toyota preferred to focus on a deluxe SUV. At the end of the 90’s, the Japanese marque took the model up again. Its goal was to crate an automobile with sturdy materials and an off-road capacity. They only used naturally aspirated V6 petrol engines, some of them being supercharged.

In Toyota’s car range, the FJ Cruiser falls between the Toyota RAV4 and the Toyota Highlander. The FJ Cruiser shares many of its components with other Toyota vehicles: its range of engines derives from the Tacoma, the Tundra and the 4Runner, and it has the same suspension system as the Toyota Hilux.

The FJ Cruiser has one generation to date.
