The Toyota Urban Cruiser is a subcompact car or crossover (B-segment in Europe) manufactured by the marque Toyota. Its original name was Toyota Ist in 2004. It arrived to the European market under the name of Urban Cruiser in 2008, right as the second generation emerged. In North America, Toyota sold this car under the branch of Scion, calling it Scion xA in the first generation and Scion xD in the second one. It stopped being manufactured around mid 2016.
In 2021, Toyota made a deal to relaunch the Urban Cruiser, sharing its model with the Suzuki Vitara. However, the Toyota Yaris Cross —which was announced in 2020—, is considered the real Urban Cruiser’s successor in other markets.
The 2 Gen Urban Cruiser shares the Toyota B platform with the Yaris and the Prius C.
