The Skoda Roomster is a subcompact MPV car (B-segment in Europe) by the Czech brand Škoda and manufactured by the Volkswagen Group. It is the predecessor of the Skoda 1203.
The Škoda Roomster is a small, front-engined, front-wheel drive MPV with a high roof. It was produced for only one generation, and was a sort of intermediate vehicle between a minivan and what we would now call a SUV. It was unveiled at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show, and was the first Skoda car produced after the Volkswagen Group acquisition. The Roomster used the Volkswagen Group A4 platform (PQ34), the same platform that would also be shared by the second-generation Fabia.
In 2007, Skoda launched a van version of the Roomster, called the Skoda Praktik. It was a single-cab, five-door van. The Roomster was sold until 2015, when the brand replaced this vehicle with the Skoda Yeti.
The MPV version of the Roomster rivalled other vehicles such as the Nissan Note, Renault Modus or Opel Meriva. The van variant competed with small vans such as the Peugeot Bipper or the Citroen Nemo.
