About ALFA ROMEO GT

The Alfa Romeo GT is a coupe-style sports car from the Italian manufacturer Alfa Romeo. It was produced between 2003 and 2010 and was introduced as the ideal successor to the brand’s historic three-box GTs, such as the Alfa Romeo Giulia GT. It had a single generation.

The first and only generation of the Alfa Romeo GT stands out for its design, which was the work of Bertone. The vehicle shared its platform and suspension with models such as the Alfa Romeo 147 and 156. In 2004, the GT’s design was recognized with awards such as “The World’s Most Beautiful Car” at the Triennale di Milano and the “Trophée du Design” in Paris.

The GT featured several engine options throughout its production run. Notable gasoline options included the 2.0 JTS with 165 CV and the powerful 3.2 V6 with 239 CV. A diesel version, the 1.9 JTDm, was also offered, available in 150 CV and 170 CV variants. The 170 CV 1.9 JTDm Q2 model featured a limited-slip differential, thereby improving its handling on the road.

Within its sports car segment, this Alfa Romeo had to compete with various alternatives from other brands, such as the BMW 3 Series Coupé, the Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class, the Toyota Celica, and the Audi TT, among others.
