Ford Tourneo Connect — TIMING CHAIN OR BELT?

MODEL LIST - (UPDATED 2023)

| Home / Ford / List of Ford Tourneo Connect Models without Timing Belt

The Ford Tourneo Connect (Europe) or Ford Transit Connect (International) is a commercial light vehicle manufactured by American automaker Ford. It replaces the Ford Courier and is developed by Ford Europe since 2002.

The Tourneo Connect has three generations to date. The newest generation will be introduced in 2021 in collaboration with Volkswagen.

The first generation of the Transit Connect or Ford Tourneo Connect is based on the Ford Focus platform, the Ford C170. It was sold in a 4-door and 5-door panel van version, and in a 5-door LAV body style. Regarding the engine and finishes, they varied depending on the market in which the van was sold.

The second generation of the Ford Transit Connect or Ford Tourneo Connect started its production in 2012. It arrived to Europe in 2013 and to the North American market in 2014. This generation put special care into its carbon footprint. That is why it added EcoBoost engines to the vans, and engines that were convertible to CNG or LPG/propane.

Unlike previous models, the third generation of this van is exclusively known as the Ford Tourneo Connect. It is exclusive to the European Market. It is actually a Volkswagen Caddy Gen 4 rebadged as a Ford.

There had been many alternatives to the Ford Tourneo Connect / Ford Transit Connect, specially in Europe. Among its competitors we can find the Peugeot Partner, the Citroen Berlingo, the Renault Kangoo, the Mercedes-Benz Citan, the Nissan NV250, the Opel Combo, the Fiat Doblo and the Volkswagen Caddy.
