The Ford B-Max is a mini MPV (B-segment in Europe) manufactured by American automaker Ford. It became commercially available in 2012 as a successor to the Ford Fusion.
Just like its predecessor, the B-Max uses the same platform as the Ford Fiesta. To be more specific, it is built on the Ford Global B Platform, just like the Ford Fiesta IV. It was Ford’s strategy to launch is as an alternative to other subcompact MPV vehicles, such as the Fiat 500L, the Citroen C3 Picasso, the Opel Meriva, the Renault Modus or the Skoda Roomster among others. The Ford B-Max name shows its position between its middle sister, the Ford C-Max and its elder sister, the Ford S-Max.
The B-Max was in production until 2017, lasting for only one generation. Ford came to the conclussion that SUV cars were a bigger selling hit than MPVs. This is why we can consider the Ford EcoSport 2 Gen the successor to Ford B-Max.
The vehicle has a transverse front engine and front-wheel drive. It had Duratec and Ecoboost gasoline egines and a Duratorq diesel engine. As for its bodywork, it was sold as a 5-door car in a minivan or a van version.
