The Mercedes-Benz CLS, initially known as Mercedes CLS-Class, is a line of luxury cars (E-segment in Europe) manufactured by the German automaker Daimler. It was originally launched as a fastback vehicle based on the E-Class platform to be marketed as a “4-door Coupe“. Later, during the second generation, an estate or shooting brake version was introduced.

The CLS-Class has some AMG performance versions. Within the Mercedes-Benz car portfolio, the CLS stands between the Mercedes E-Class and the S-Class. It has 3 generations to date. The Mercedes CLS competes against similar high-end vehicles, such as the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe or the Audi A7.
