Volkswagen Taos: timing chain or timing belt information

About Volkswagen Taos

The Volkswagen Taos is a C-segment compact SUV manufactured by the German automaker Volkswagen. It has been produced since 2020 in Mexico, Argentina, and China, with different engines depending on the market. It is positioned one step below the Tiguan, but above the T-Cross. Depending on the market, its name may vary. For example, in China, it is marketed as the Volkswagen Tharu.

The Taos was introduced in 2020 as a completely new model from Volkswagen. It is based on the Volkswagen Group's MQB A1 platform, the same one used by models such as the Seat Ateca, Skoda Karoq, and Volkswagen Jetta VS5.

The Taos is the first C-segment SUV produced in Argentina. By 2022, it incorporated 20% locally manufactured parts. Seventy percent of its production is destined for export from the General Pacheco plant.

Among the alternatives to the Volkswagen Taos are models such as the Jeep Compass or the Toyota Corolla Cross.
