Kia Ceed — TIMING CHAIN OR BELT?

MODEL LIST - (UPDATED 2023)

| Home / Kia / List of Kia Ceed Models without Timing Belt

The Kia Ceed (formerly known as Cee’d) is a C-segment car manufactured by the South Korean marque Kia Motors. It succeeds the Kia Spectra and Kia Cerato and is manufactured exclusively for the European market. In fact, Kia named it with the acronym Communauté économique européenne (“European Economic Community”) in mind. The final “d” with apostrophe refers to the word “Design“, although since 2018 the apostrophe was removed to make the brand simpler. In addition to being sold solely on the European market, the Ceed is also manufactured entirely in Europe, specifically at the Žilina plant in Slovakia.

The first version of the “Cee’d” was presented at the 2006 Paris Motor Show. A year later came the family version (Station Wagon). Since then, the Kia Ceed has created a whole family segment within the Korean brand.

The Kia Ceed is sold in multiple body styles, such as 3- and 5-door Hatchback (Ceed), Family (SW), Shooting Brake (Proceed) and Crossover SUV (XCeed). There are 3 generations of the Kia Ceed to date. Some of alternative cars would be the Hyundai i30, Ford Focus, Opel Astra, Citroen C4, Seat Leon and Renault Megane among others.

Kia Ceed. Timing Belt or Timing Chain?

Down below you will see a list with all Kia Ceed models that have been produced. They are classified by model identifier, year and type of bodywork. Above each list, we show you a series of pictures so that you can have a visual reference for each model. In some cases, both the original and its updated design are displayed to help you identify them with ease.

In this guide you will find all Kia Ceed.

■ Timing Belt / Cam Belt (Correa / Faja de Distribución)

If a car model is specified in blue, it means its motor engine has a timing chain; that is, it has no timing belt. The rest of the vehicles marked in grey have a timing belt/cam belt.

Kia Cee’d I – First Generation (ED) (2006)

Hatchback

This first version of the Ceed (at the time called Kia Cee’d) was designed in Frankfurt, Germany. It was developed using the Hyundai i30 platform. Its first redesign was shown at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, although it did not affect the 3-door hatchback version, which remained exactly the same. The rest underwent changes in the grille, changes in the optics and some technical modifications.
