Mazda 5 / Premacy — TIMING CHAIN OR BELT?

MODEL LIST - (UPDATED 2023)

| Home / Mazda / List of Mazda 5 / Premacy Models without Timing Belt

The Mazda 5 (or Mazda Premacy) is a compact minivan (C-segment in Europe) manufactured by the Japanese automaker Mazda Motor Corporation. It was produced from 1999 to 2017 for 3 generations in total.

The first generation Mazda 5 / Premacy was an MPV with 5- to 7-seater variants, based on the Mazda 323 platform. It was available in front-wheel and all-wheel drive variants. In some markets, this model was marketed as Ford Ixion.

The second generation of this vehicle was launched in 2004. It was named ‘Mazda 5’ in all markets except Japan. It was based on the Ford Global C1 platform, also shared with the Mazda 3. This model also eventually replaced the Mazda MPV. This model was sold with gasoline engines ranging from 1.8 to 2.0 displacement. There was also a diesel variant. In 2008, the model was updated with a new exterior and some improvements.

The third and last generation of the Mazda 5 was launched in 2010, and ceased production in 2018. The first market in which Mazda withdrew this vehicle was Europe, due to the fact that consumers began to demand vehicles with SUV bodywork.

Some of the alternatives to the Mazda 5 we can find are the Toyota Corolla Verso, the Seat Altea XL, Opel Zafira, Volkswagen Touran, Renault Grand Scénic, the Kia Carens or the Citroën C4 Picasso among many others.
