The Mazda CX-8 is a midsize SUV (D-segment in Europe) manufactured by the Japanese automaker Mazda Motor Company. The CX-8 was launched in late 2017 and is the 7-seater version of the Mazda CX-5.
The CX-8 is the SUV a segment below the Mazda CX-9. However, it is the top-of-the-line and best-selling model in numerous markets. It was originally introduced as an exclusive vehicle for Japan, but later, the model arrived in countries such as New Zealand, Australia, China and Malaysia.
It was initially offered only with the 2.2 Skyactiv-D engine, but shortly after, the 2.5-liter gasoline models and the turbocharged gasoline engine (inherited from the Mazda CX-9) were added. There is only one generation of the Mazda CX-8 to date.
