About MAZDA TRIBUTE
The Mazda Tribute is a C-segment compact SUV, manufactured by the Japanese company Mazda between 2000 and 2011. It had 2 generations throughout its commercialization.
The first generation of the Tribute was introduced at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2000. It was developed jointly with Ford, sharing the CD2 platform with the Ford Escape. It was manufactured in Japan, the United States, and also in Taiwan.
This first version was initially offered with 2.0L DOHC 16v gasoline engines of 130 hp and 3.0-liter V6 Duratec of 200 hp. In 2004 it received a redesign where the 2.3L ECOTEC of 153 hp also began to be used. The gearbox was a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic depending on the chosen version.
The second generation of the Tribute was presented at the 2007 Montreal Auto Show. It maintained the CD2 platform, but with a complete body redesign and improvements in interior finishes. The 3-liter V6 engine was kept, although a 2.5 gasoline engine and a hybrid variant of this same powerplant were also added.
Production of the Mazda Tribute ended in 2011, being replaced by the Mazda CX-5. Its direct rivals were models such as the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, Subaru Forester, and Nissan X-Trail.
