The Mazda CX-90 is a full-size E-segment SUV from the Japanese brand Mazda. The current model debuted in 2023 as a replacement for the Mazda CX-9.

The first generation of the Mazda CX-90 was introduced in 2023. It uses Mazda's new rear-wheel-drive platform called Large Product Group, the same one as the Mazda CX-60. It is available with mild hybrid gasoline powertrains featuring a 3.3-liter inline 6-cylinder engine that develops 280 hp or 340 hp, a 3.3-liter inline 6-cylinder mild hybrid diesel engine with 251 hp, and a plug-in hybrid version with a 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine and an electric motor that together deliver 323 hp. All versions feature all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The CX-90 is the largest SUV that Mazda has manufactured to date. It has a seating capacity for 6, 7, or 8 passengers depending on the configuration. It incorporates Kinematic Posture Control technology, originally developed for the Mazda MX-5, which improves cornering stability.

For the time being, Mazda has not introduced this model in Europe. Therefore, its alternatives are other high-performance SUVs such as the Honda Pilot, the Toyota Highlander, the Hyundai Palisade, or the Kia Telluride.
