The 370Z only has a range of 3.7-liter naturally aspirated V6 engines, but there are different power ranges and several transmission options, such as a 7-speed automatic and a 6-speed manual transmission. The 370 is sold in coupe and roadster (convertible) versions. Its most prepared versions are sold under the surname NISMO (“Nissan Motorsport“). There is only one generation of this sports car.

Among its competitors are the Audi TT, the BMW Z4, the Toyota GT-86, the Porsche Boxter, the Porsche Cayman and the Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class.
