Nissan Almera — TIMING CHAIN OR BELT?

MODEL LIST - (UPDATED 2023)

| Home / Nissan / List of Nissan Almera Models without Timing Belt

The Nissan Almera is a compact vehicle (C-segment in Europe) manufactured by the Japanese marque Nissan. This model is within the Nissan Pulsar family, and received several names depending on the market in which it was marketed.

Its first generation dates back to 1995, when it was manufactured with hatchback and sedan bodies. The Almera was sold mainly in Europe, although the model was marketed in other countries under the names Nissan Pulsar and Nissan Sentra. The second generation of the Nissan Almera was discontinued in 2008, making way for the Nissan Tiida. In countries such as Thailand, the Japanese brand continued to market a vehicle with this name, although, in this case, converted into a subcompact segment B.

The original Almera came as a replacement for the Nissan Sunny (which is also another name for the Pulsar itself). It was sold as a 4-door sedan and as a 3- and 5-door hatchback. Both diesel and gasoline versions were offered, and even a GTi version with a 2-liter engine was produced. In 1998 phase 2 was launched, with an aesthetic redesign.

In 2000, Nissan launched the second generation of the Almera, which was again offered in both hatchback and sedan bodywork. It was built on the MS platform, which was the first platform shared by Nissan and Renault.

The Nissan Almera competed with other vehicles in its segment such as the Peugeot 307, Chrysler Neon, Citroen Xsara, Fiat Bravo, Opel Astra and Ford Focus.
